About the Author
Charlie Hayes (14 Dec 1936) was a spiritual seeker since 1974. He had tried many paths, many practices and many gurus for over thirty years. Finally in 2004 he met an American Sage named John Wheeler, and in 2005 traveled to Melbourne, Australia, to meet with John’s Teacher, "Sailor" Bob Adamson. Bob, and John, provided the pointers to Charlie’s True Nature, and ultimately all suffering and seeking for “enlightenment simply ended. And now, and nothing is really missing. Nothing is wrong any more Life is as it is – and wherever we go, Here and Now, we Are. This is Absolute Freedom – and Effortless Living. Charlie lives in Southern California and offers meetings this Absolute Freedom and Natural Happiness three times each week. Charlie is the author of four books on this topic. From tragedy to transformation

Life After Death is the third book by this author that I have read, and it is my favorite. In my experience, it is rare to find an autobiography the lays the author's life out for all to see with such remarkable and unflinching honesty. He describes a tumultuous and tragic life of extraordinary highs and devastating lows, from success, fame and wealth as a racecar driver, to the eventual physical, financial and personal collapse of it all. What followed was his tireless quest for freedom from the nightmare. For anyone who feels unworthy of spiritual realization, this story is a gift. As serious as our own shortcomings may be, Charlie's book drives home the fact that we are not our stories, and in truth, have no past. As he puts it, there was never a me. "It was merely the phantom of `my' soap opera." After the autobiographical part of the book, the second half details the form of self-investigation that ultimately led him to peace and wholeness. Wonderful pointers and dialogues reveal clearly how one is led within, and opened to the possibility of experiencing the truth, rather than thinking about it. With authenticity and clarity, and a keen desire to point others to what has been transforming for him, Charlie gives us yet another great book. I highly recommend it!
