About the Author
Pamela Butchart's first book, Yikes, Stinkysaurus!, was published by Bloomsbury in January 2014 and is the first in a brand-new and exciting picture book series. Pamela is the author of Baby Aliens Got My Teacher! (Nosy Crow). When she's not busy being an author, Pamela teaches Philosophy to students in Dundee.
Marc Boutavant is the illustrator behind the incredibly popular Mouk books (Tate Publishing) whose artwork is loved all over the world. Often described as the archetypal French man (even by French people), Marc's work springs from a wry observation of life. Marc lives and works in Paris, and this is his first book for Bloomsbury.

Great illustrations, Great story!

Wonderful illustrations (Marc Boutavant is one of my favorites) - I would have purchased the book purely for them...but then I heard that the story was good as well, so I didn't hesitate to order. This is a great story for kids who have a hard time sitting still (neurotypical kids, kids with ADHD, autism and sensory issues, etc) and even for kids who don't. My 5-year-old daughter loves all of the animals. My 1-year-old son (who definitely has a hard time sitting still!) loved looking at the animals in the illustrations too.

Yes, she does tickle one.

Izzy is a real sweet girl. I loved her clothes and those of her friends. It was fun seeing her unable to sit still, something which some readers will be able to relate to. (I'd just give her a ball of yarn and a crochet hook so she can learn to crochet to keep active!) I have to say I wasn't a figidity child, but I've known some and this book is perfect for them.
Izzy is extremely daring in what she does, which, despite the consequences, she doesn't entirely learn her lesson at the end. Hopefully like minded readers will learn from Izzy's mistakes and not tickle a tiger – no good can ever come of it outside of a book! Plus I'm sure all readers would like their fingers in tact, which is what I thought may happen to Izzy who poked and prodded a fair few animals before the tiger.
