Excellent resource for students (through calc) make full use of the capabilities of the TI 84+. Stat examples not as strong.

I have the older version of this book, which I use to loan out to students having difficulty with their TI-84 Plus or who want to learn more options.

The TI-84 Plus is the workhorse of high school math. That said, many students (and teachers) buy one, and use it to do tasks a one dollar calculator can complete. Sort of like buying a sports car, and never driving it over 5 mph.

These are clear, step by step instructions covering everything even a pretty advanced student at the high school level will use. The book even has a section on programming the calculator. The author also covers what to do if you calculator is having issue, which I much appreciate since I always have to google those problems. A nice table in the back covers error messages, and explanations are also given for what to do to reboot the whole thing.

There is a learning curve to mastering a TI-84 Plus. This book will make it shorter, but you still will need to put in some effort to learning to use it well. With the step by step examples, you can find problems similar to those you are doing in class and follow along to figure out how to make the most of your TI-84 Plus. There are actual screen shots, which are very helpful.

The weakness I found was in the explanation for running statistical tests. For example, your calculator can run ANOVA, but I could not find any mention of how to do so in the book. Some basics on t tests and z tests are covered, so I am not sure where the author drew the line as far as explaining the statistical capabilities of the TI 84 Plus. Not a lot of high school classes cover that level of stat (so I will not ding the book for this), but do be aware there is less about statistics in here than there is about more typical high school classes.

As a math teacher, I must note. Be aware that you can become TOO dependent on your calculator. If your teacher does not allow them on tests or exams (or a later teacher bans them) you will then have an issue. Use the calculator to help you learn, not as a crutch.

The book also comes with a free ebook version. You do have to register to get it, but they only require your name and email. The registration process involved getting a confirmation email, logging on and entering two codes from a matrix of codes from the front of the book. Took about 3 min and then I had access to PDF ePub and Kindle versions (you can get them all) of the book. On the Kindle the formatting looked good. This is handy, as we can put it on the computer and use the search function to find what we need fast.

Teaches It All - Well Organized and Easy To Understand

This tutorial teaches how to use the TI-84, TI-84 Plus CE and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition graphing calculators. The writing is clear and the objectives are outlined. You may skip around to learn something you must know right now or you can read it from front to back. The directions and information are in the formats of paragraphs, charts, illustrations and diagrams. Grayed boxes help short sections with tips pop out and stand apart from the longer sections.

The purchase of the paperback book entitles you to also download all versions of the ebook. It will be convenient for use while away at college so the student doesn't have to bring the hardcopy book to campus.

This teaches everything you need for high school math and to become proficient so you can use the calculator in the SAT. It's clear and straightforward. I rate this 5 stars = I Love It.

A MUST HAVE resource for a calculator with lots of great features but no Users Guide to accompany the hefty price.

After seeing some of the YouTube videos I decided to give this book a try. I'm in a graduate level biostatistics course and wish I'd found this book sooner!! The book is easy to read and I'm amazed at how many hours I could have saved when doing my homework assignments had I known how to use all of the different features of my calculator. Now I can spend more time focusing on the important concepts in class and less time on just the calculations.

Good for what it is, but there could have been more!

Short and sweet sums up the story and writing. Technically nothing is wrong with the writing, but the substance of plot through this story and the subsequent sequels (2 & 3) could have been more thoroughly derived. This is falling into a formula that is starting to really turn me off- write NOVELLAS of less than 70 pages usually no more than 3-5 chapters, some of those not even qualifying for chapeters, and throw some graphic sex into the mix. The thing erotic romance is meant to be erotic not trash. I gave 4 stars because of the writing which was better than it should have been for all the other facets of the series. Is this comparable to Sylvain Reynard? Absolutely not! Is this comparable to E.L. James? I don't think so! If there had been more substance I could see Karolyn James giving the either two a run for the book sales, but like any "mill" the gambit will always run between modest and mediocre at best. The idea is intriguing (4 stars), the writing (technically- 4 stars), everything else (2.5-3 stars at best). I am not trying to be dismissive or contrary for the sake of it, but Ms. James on other occassions has shown herself to be a good writer with clearly defined plots and the wisdom and talen to express them. I want Karolyn James and not the mill worker that produced this! Va tutto bene!

I enjoyed the book-story was good but very tired of all this serial stuff-gets expensive and waiting to continue a story for God knows how long, is a drag. Got hooked in though so I'll have to finish it.

About the Author

Stella Bruzzi is Professor of Film and Television Studies at the University of Warwick and

Fellow of the British Academy. Her publications include Undressing Cinema: Clothing

and Identity in the Movies (1997), New Documentary (2000 and 2006), Bringing Up

Daddy: Fatherhood and Masculinity in Post-war Hollywood (2005) and Men’s Cinema:

Masculinity and Mise-en-scene in Hollywood (2013). She is currently writing Approximation:

Documentary, History and the Staging of Reality, the culmination of a Leverhulme Major

Research Fellowship due to be published by Routledge in 2015.

Pamela Church Gibson is Reader in Cultural and Historical Studies at the London College

of Fashion, University of the Arts London. She is Principal Editor of the journal Film,

Fashion and Consumption and has published widely on film, fashion and gender. Her

publications include The Oxford Guide to Film Studies (1998), More Dirty Looks: Gender,

Power, Pornography (2004) and Fashion and Celebrity Culture (2012). In 2012 she helped to

found the European Popular Culture Association and was its first President. Her forthcoming

project will examine the history of the fashion documentary.

It clearly lays out all the theories and principles of face reading, mostly relating to understanding personality ( but also in a final chapter to medical diagnosis) and illustrates these with numerous black and white and colour photographs.

Interesting...wish I had purchased the hard copy

I love my Kindle reader, but some books are better in hard copy, and this is one of them. I view the book as a reference one that you may read from cover to cover, but more than likely you will want to look things up. It is difficult to do that in the Kindle format.

Unfamiliar with Chinese medicine, I had a hard time maintaining reference points, I kept thinking through my Western understanding and found something's confusing, again, probably would do better being able to "thumb" back a few pages to reconnect.

With "Face Reading in Chinese Medicine - Second Edition" professor Lillian Pearl Bridges has expanded and deepened the ancient Chinese Facial Diagnosis with her unique, extensive, modern and new knowledge. Making diagnoses is much easier and more precise by using its in-depth information about emotions and organ disturbances according to the Five Elements in Chinese Medicine. I use this valuable diagnostic method daily in my practice of acupuncture and physiotherapy in the Netherlands.
It was an honor to me that my friend Lillian asked me to make all the color photos which are published in this book and in February 2013 I will travel to Los Angeles to follow her first Master Face Reading Program! Also to learn more about how to recognize in the face what kind of capacities someone has inherited and how that information can help a person on his or her (Golden) Path!
The book is indispensable for all acupuncturists, all specialists/therapists in Oriental Medicine and Philosophy, for any person who is interested in this field and a must for the Western trained physician to gain new insights to use in the every day practice.
